    Christmas Markets

    Granary Road Christmas Market

    Nov 3 – Dec 23

    Shop local for Christmas presents from over 50 vendors at this Christmas market. Enjoy fire pits with marshmallow roasting, wagon rides, ice skating, snowman building, carolers, and a visit with Santa Claus himself. Plus, get a funny photo with an alpaca under the mistletoe! Admission is free.

    Calgary Christmas Market

    Nov 15 – Dec 23

    The Calgary Farmers Market will transform into a Christmas market extravaganza on Thursday-Sunday this month. Snap a selfie with their strolling Santa, sample mulled wine and roasted holiday nuts, and listen to live entertainment. Stock up on Christmas presents from regular market vendors and special seasonal vendors. Admission is free.

    Christmas Lights

    ZOOlights at the Calgary Zoo

    Nov 23 – Dec 24

    Bask in the glow of two million holiday lights at the Calgary Zoo. Special displays will feature Snow White and the Seven Stewards of the Forrest this year. You will spot a gingerbread house, an enchanted forest, an apple wishing tree, craft stations, and Santa Claus himself. Parking is $10 and proceeds benefit animal conversation efforts.

    Lion’s Festival of Lights

    Dec 1 – Jan 8

    The largest free drive-by Christmas light display in Calgary is Lion’s Festival of Lights! Check out more than 45,000 LED bulbs from the comfort and warmth of your car.

    Airdrie Festival of Lights

    Dec 1 – 31

    If you don’t mind a little wintry chill while you gaze at the Christmas sparkle, visit Airdrie this season. This is the largest free walk-though light display around. In addition to all of the delightful light collections, hop aboard one of three miniature trains for $2. Santa will be in the house on Dec 1, 4, 11, 18, 22, and 23. Kids can shop for gifts to surprise their friends and family at prices under $10 in the Kids Only Santa’s Workshop. There is an ice skating pond, fire pits, concessions, and food trucks. Admission is free, but donations are accepted to help power the festival lights each year.

    Christmas Parades

    Mahogany Parade of Lights

    Dec 8

    On Saturday, Dec 8 from 5-7:30 p.m., the Mahogany Parade of Lights will march from Divine Mercy Catholic Elementary to Masters Boulevard. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be the parade grand marshals, and floats will be judged by a celebrity guest. After the parade, the community will gather at Mahogany Beach Club Park for caroling, hot chocolate, bonfires, and lighting the Mahogany Tree of Hope.
